Mary Frances (Pittman) Edgerton
March 13, 1924 — May 19, 2015
Frances Pittman Edgerton, 91 of Morehead City, passed away surrounded by family, Tuesday May 19, 2015 at Carteret General Hospital.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Friday May 22, 2015 at Munden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Powell Osteen officiating. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park.
Ms.Frances moved to Morehead City in the second grade and was an active member of the community, an avid walker, that also enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles, computer games, playing bridge,and watching classic musicals. She was a loving wife and mother who was an important part of the lives of multiple generations.
She is surived by two daughters, Mary Anne Floyd of Morehead City, and Jo Anne Harrell and husband Paul of Jacksonville, son Jim Edgerton and wife Cindy of Glenelg, MD.; sister Martha Bradley of Morehead City, three grandchildren, Melissa and Alex Edgerton and Patrick Harrell.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years James Becton Edgerton, parents I.E. and Eva Pittman; brothers Elbert Pittman Jr. and Chester Pittman Sr.; and two sisters Margaret Styron and Anne Wade.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
