Mary Louise (Sanderson) Wingfield
August 9, 1940 — April 17, 2011
Mary Sanderson Wingfield, 70, of Morehead City, died Sunday, April 17, 2011 at Carteret General Hospital.
Mary loved to dance the night away at several clubs on Atlantic Beach, including Skippers Cove and Memories. She was also a member of the Atlantic Beach Shag Club. We will be listening to her favorite songs during the visitation. She enjoyed basking in the sun with her friends on the sandbars of Bogue Sound, and saying "I wonder what the rich people are doing"?
Mary loved her family and enjoyed cooking for the holidays,and really shinned during those times. Her friends had her bake birthday cakes and several other dishes anytime they could find a reason, because everyone loved her cooking.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Friday, April 22, 2011 at Bayview Cemetery with Rev. Bob Lowery officiating.
She is survived by two sisters, Grace Ann Sanderson of Newport and Pearl Willis of Morehead City; four nieces, Brenda L. Rone, Charisse Galileo, Clara Bernstein, and Linda Riggs; and two nephews, Dean Rone and Delmas "Buddy" Willis, Jr..
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Leone Sanderson, sister, Edna Rone, two brothers, C.T. Sanderson and John "Ducky" Sanderson, niece, Kay Gillikin.
The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Thursday at Munden Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to help with funeral expenses.
