Mary Ann Verbetich, 86, of Davenport, Florida, passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at Carteret Health Care in Morehead City, North Carolina.

Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, September 7th at St. Faustina Catholic Church in Clermont, FL. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. The family will receive friends the evening prior from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 6th at Becker Funeral Home in Clermont, FL.

Mary Ann was born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1936, in West Wyoming, Pennsylvania to the late Walter and Louise Troy. She was a devoted woman of faith who was a faithful member of St. Faustina Catholic Church in Clermont, FL. She loved to express her creativity through sewing and creating beautiful ceramics. Mary Ann was an amazing cook and was happy to be in her kitchen, creating delicious meals for her family and friends. Her specialty was her tasty chicken wings.

More than anything, Mary Ann will be remembered as a woman who was deeply committed to her family who will fondly remember her as a loving wife, supportive mother, and proud grandmother and great-grandmother.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her son, Charles Joseph Verbetich Jr. (Linda) of Newport; daughters, Louise Johnson (Les) of Levelland, TX, Maryann Huber (Mark) of Pasadena, MD, and Patricia Phillips (Terry) of Cowpens, SC; sister, Barbara Tupper of Michigan; grandchildren, Steven Johnson, Paul Johnson, David Johnson, Dan Huber, Melissa L'Heureux, T.J. Phillips, and Ashlee Ewers; great grandchildren, Keira L'Heureux, Peter L'Heureux, Thomas Odell, Elliot Odell, and Stella Johnson; along with her precious cats, Pretty Boy and Baby Sister.

In addition to her parents, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Charles Joseph Verbetich Sr. who passed away in 2008; sisters, Eleanor Popko, Tillie Hettes and Rosie Kane; and her brother, Mike Troy.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to St. Faustina Catholic Church, 15551 N. Boggy Marsh Rd., Clermont, FL 34713.
