Mary Ann (Kreamer) Snyder

November 27, 1940 — November 16, 2010

Mary Ann Kreamer Snyder, of Emerald Isle, NC, died Tuesday, November 16, 2010, at her residence after a lengthy battle with melanoma.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 am Thursday at Shepherd of the Sea Lutheran Church, Atlantic Beach, NC, and 11:00 Saturday Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church in Grantvill, PA.

She was born in Rebersburg, PA; the daughter of the late Charles and Edythe Kreamer. She was a graduate of Central Dauphin High School (Harrisburg, PA), Harrisburg Hospital School of Nursing, Lebanon Valley College, and Pennsylvania State University. She retired from Pinnacle Health System in 1990 as Director of Women’s and Children’s Services.

After relocating to North Carolina she was employed as an Enrolled Agent for H&R Block. She was a member of Shepherd of the Sea Lutheran Church, Star Hill Golf Club, Southern Belles Barbershop Group, the Crystal Coast Choral Society, and the Harrisburg Hospital Alumni Association.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Paul A. Snyder; son David J.VanKirk of Annville, PA; step-children, Beth A. Flanery of Bel Air, MD, Jeffrey P. Snyder and wife Para of Phoenix, AZ; brother, Jeff F. Kreamer and wife Marie of Mt. Union, PA; sisters, Jane A. Bomberger of Hummelstown, PA, Barbara E. Kreamer of Centre Hall, PA; nephews, Andrew, Matthew, and Aaron Bomberger; and grandchildren, Corey, Ryan, Blake, Paul, Taylor, Tristen, and Cameron.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, James E L VanKirk.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shepherd of the Sea Lutheran Church, 201 East Fort Macon Rd, Atlantic Beach, NC 28512, or the Crystal Coast Choral Society, PO Box 1954, Swansboro, NC 28584.
