Mary Pittman

Mary Carraway Pittman, 90, of Beaufort, went to be with her heavenly Father on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at Carteret Health Care.

A funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Saturday, July 16, 2016 at Munden Funeral Home Chapel in Morehead City with the Rev. Paul Harris officiating.  Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park.

Mary was a member of Russell Creek Free Will Baptist Church where she sung in the choir and was active in the Ladies Auxiliary Club.  She had a passion for gardening as well.

Mary is survived by her son, Clyde Pittman and wife Angie J. of Beaufort; sisters, Margaret Bection, Agnes Flythe and Minnie Pittman all of Merrimon; four grandchildren, Darrell Pittman and wife Angela of Port Haywood, VA, Ashton Pittman of Japan, Stacy Jones of Scottsboro, AL and Chassity Bangs and husband Greg of Cumming, GA; six great grandchildren, Maria Pittman, Brayden Jones, Ryann Jones, Campbell Pittman, Brooks Cumming and Trey Cumming; many nephews and nieces; and a loving church family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Clyde Pittman; parents, Henry Muse and Vera Minnie Nelson; sister, Thelma C. Robinson; brothers, Herman Carraway, Dick Carraway, Luther Carraway, Grady Carraway, Jake Carraway, and Allen Carraway.

The family will welcome friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Friday, July 15 at Munden Funeral Home, Morehead City.
