Mary Lou Parker

Mary Lou Parker, 84, of Cape Carteret, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 29, 2018, surrounded by her family at home.

A private family service will be held in Northern Ontario, Canada.

Mary Lou was born on November 23, 1933, to Roy and Gladys Van Tassell in Kentville, Nova Scotia, Canada.  She served in the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Registered Nurse.  Mary Lou later joined the nursing staff at Central DuPage Hospital in DuPage, Illinois, as the head nurse of the Intensive Care Unit.  In addition, Mary Lou worked in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at the Durham VA Medical Center in Durham, NC.

She is survived by her loving husband, John F. Parker of Cape Carteret; daughter, Cindy Lou Hudson of Wendell, NC; and grandson, Justin Parker Hudson of Wendell, NC.

Mary Lou is preceded in death by her son, Daniel John Parker.
