Mary R. Mears, 89, of Raleigh, formerly of Newport, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at PruittHealth Center.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Munden Funeral Home with Pastor Manley Rose Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery.
She is survived by her one son, William Thomas Mears and wife Terry of Cary, NC; one sister, Dorothy Wooten of Norfolk, VA; one brother, James Rowe of Sea Brook, TX; one grandson Jason Mears.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Brantley Thomas Mears; parents, William and Martha Rowe; and one sister, Margaret Rowe Gray; also one brother Billy Rowe.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to charity of choice or to Beacon Baptist Church, 2110 Trawick Rd. Raleigh, NC 27605
The family will receive friends from one hour prior to the service at Munden Funeral Home.
