Mary White Korkuc, 88, of Morehead City, died peacefully at her home Friday, May 7, 2010.
Mary was born May 6, 1922 in Richmond, VA and later moved to Summit, NJ, where she married Chester H. Korkuc in 1943. They spent their summer vacations fishing and camping at the Iron Steamer on Atlantic Beach. She and her late husband, Chester "Chet", retired in Morehead City.
Services will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday in St. Egbert Catholic Church With Father Doug Smiley officiating.
She is survived by her sister, Lillian W. Cobb of Greenville, NC and Joan W. Reading of Woodstock, VA; nieces and nephews, Peggy S. Hite and Teresa S. Wood of Greenville, NC, Gina Silveri of Wake Forest, NC, Nicholas Simonowich, Jr., David Simonowich, Robert Simonowich, Michael Simonowich, Joseph Simonowich, Anthony Silveri, Jr., Mark Silveri, John Silveri, all of NC, Linda Bornstian of Salt Lake City, UT, David Iseman of San Diego, CA, Donna and Teresa Dymacek, Cynthia D. Kemp, Curtis Jordan, Jr. of Louisa County, VA, Barbara J. Willier and Sonny Day of Richmond, VA and her caregiver/niece, Nathalie R. Dymacek of Louisa County, VA and her longtime friend and neighbor, Nelda Johnson.
She was predeceased by her parents, Charles Lance White and Teresa Catherine Robertson White of VA, her sisters and brother, Dorothy Day, Helen W. Richardson, Catherine Gillis, Charles White, Alvin White, Eugene White, Teresa White, James White, Johnny White, Lois W. Silveri, Lola W. Simonowich and Thomas A. White.
The family will receive friends 5:00 - 7:00 pm Monday at Munden Funeral Home.
