Mary Rose Grady

Mary Rose Grady, 90, of Emerald Isle, passed away on Monday, April 19, 2021, at Brook Stone Living.

Funeral services to celebrate her life will be private.

Mary was born on March 26, 1931, in the Arba community of Greene County, North Carolina, to the late Lemuel Ransom and Mary Susan Forrest Aldridge. She graduated from Snow Hill High School in 1941 and continued her education at Lenoir Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She retired from the Nash County School System after 17 years of faithful service. Mary will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and mema, and as being the best cook.

She is survived by her son, John Carl Grady Jr. and wife Sandra of Emerald Isle; grandchildren, Dr. John Carl Grady III and wife Danielle and Matthew Forrest Grady, all of Emerald Isle; great-grandchildren, Maggie Grady and Jake Grady IV of Emerald Isle; and a host of nieces, nephews and special friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Carl Grady Sr.; brother, Lemuel Ransom “L.R.” Aldridge; and sisters, Gladys Barbara A. Pritchard and Grace West A. Seymour.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions in memory of Mary, may be made to the Carteret County Humane Society at 853 Hibbs Rd, Newport, NC 28570.
