Mary "Miss Alice" (Smith) Cannon

Mary (Miss Alice) Cannon, 92, of Mill Creek, died Sunday, April 1, 2012 at Carteret General Hospital.
The family and church will have a memorial service 7:00 pm Tuesday, April 10th at Reeces Chapel with Rev. James Chadwick and Rev. Shane Hardesty officiating.
Ms. Alice enjoyed cooking, gardening and helping others. She was a faithful member of Reeces Chapel Baptist Church. She touched the lives of many people.
She is survived by her daughter, Nola Faye Brown and husband James of Mill Creek; son, James Greer and wife Edith of Newport; four grandchildren, Rev. Shane Hardesty and wife Lynn of Brevard, Eddie Greer of Havelock, Berk Malpass of Morehead City and Jason Malpass of Delco; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilford Cannon; and four siblings.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers and food, memorials may be made to Reeces Chapel, PO Box 249, Newport, NC 28570.
