Martha Ballard, 74, of Havelock, died Thursday, November 25, 2010, at Carolina East Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 1st at Croatan Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Harry Bryan and Rev. Nelson Hopkins officiating.
Mrs. Ballard was a homemaker who was very fond of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Croatan Free Will Baptist Church. She and her late husband, Worth Ballard, enjoyed serving the widows of the community by providing free transportation to doctor’s appointments, shopping, and various errands.
She is survived by her son, Rick Ballard and wife Linda of Merritt, NC; granddaughter Julie and husband Willie McCausley of Swansboro, NC; grandsons, Ricky and wife Judy Ballard of Elizabeth City, NC, and Josh Ballard of Charleston, SC; six great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Overton of Harkers Island, NC; and brother Dalton Lee of Jacksonville, NC.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Dalton Lee, Sr. and Ila Sutton; and brothers, Bobby Lee and Archie Lee.
The family will receive friends 6:00pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday at Munden Funeral Home.
