Marlyn James Kramer, 65, of Newport, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Carteret Health Care.
A celebration of life service will be held at 4:00 pm, Thursday, January 7 at St. Peter’s United Methodist Church, 111 Hodges Street, Morehead City, NC 28557. A visitation and fellowship will follow from 5:00 until 7:00 pm in the St. Peter’s Methodist Church’s Fellowship Hall.
He was born in Chesapeake, VA to the late Daniel Kramer and Mary Edna Kramer who resides in Greenwood, DE. He retired from the United States Army in 1991 after 22 years of service and was a retired employee of QC Orthodontics of Fuquay-Varina, NC. He was an avid boater and loved fishing.
Marlyn is survived by his wife, Linda T. Kramer of Newport, NC; daughter Alicia Kramer Durham and her husband David Durham of Pine Knoll Shores, NC; granddaughter Elizabeth Durham; two step-daughters, Michele Waters Phelps, and husband Chris Phelps of Washington, NC, Melissa Waters Wynn of Plymouth, NC and two step-grandsons Josh Wynn and Braxton Phelps; his sisters, Ruth Morthole of Huntsville, AL, Lois Kramer Cahall Greenwood, DE, and Deborah Kramer of Oak Park, IL. He was preceded in death by his sister Esther Kramer Bender.
