Marjorie B. Lindsay, 92, of Morehead City, North Carolina, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at Brookdale Senior Living.
A memorial service to honor Marjorie’s life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 16th at First Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Powell Osteen and Rev. Patrick Whaley. The family will receive friends one hour prior in the Church Atrium.
Born on January 25, 1932, in Goldsboro, NC, Marjorie was the daughter of the late Claude and Marjorie Brown. She grew up in Lincolnton, NC, and later pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from High Point College.
Marjorie dedicated her early career to teaching elementary education in High Point before she married the love of her life, David Murray Lindsay, in 1958. Together, they shared over 62 years of marriage and embarked on new adventures in Morehead City, NC, where they established Carteret Concrete and Salter Path Family Campground.
Throughout her life, Marjorie found joy in music. She shared her passion by teaching piano lessons and singing in the choir at First Methodist Church, where she also nurtured young talent as the choir mom for the junior choir.
Memorable and happy times for Marjorie included her time working at the Calico House with her dear friend Jolene McCann. Marjorie enjoyed traveling with friends Ruth Eure, Anne Murphy, and Janice Bean and going to DPAC with Susan Griffith and Nancy Willis. Marjorie will be remembered for her unwavering love, kindness, and dedication to her family.
Those remaining to cherish her memory are her son, David Lindsay Jr. of Newport; daughter, Anne Lindsay of Morehead City; and grandson, John Richard Drewyor and fiancé Madison Sandlin of Atlanta, GA.
In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Murray Lindsay who passed away in 2020; her daughter, Laura Virginia Lindsay Drewyor; and her brother, Claude H. Brown.
