Maria Lynn Lucas

Maria Lynn Lucas, 54, of Havelock, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2016, at Carolina East Medical Center.

Maria was always known for having such a big heart and for always being willing to help people. She served her country with the United States Army and spent part of her life as a police officer for Elon College. She enjoyed spending her time fishing, shooting pool with her friends, riding motorcycles, and being an artist. She loved her family, friends, and cats more than anything. She will truly be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her father, George Lee Lucas, Sr.; her 9 cats that were her children; brothers; Patrick Lucas and wife Tina of Monroe, NC, George Lee Lucas, Jr. and wife Debbie of Pee Dee, NC, Timmy Lucas and wife Cynthia of Star, NC, and Roger Lucas of Star, NC; sister, Chelsea Lucas and fiancé Jay Loki of Kansas City, MO; 7 nephews; 1 niece; and numerous friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Sikes Lucas.
