​Marguerite Alice Cannady Guthrie Gillikin

Marguerite Alice Cannady Guthrie Gillikin, 81, of Williston, passed away Friday, August 3­, 2018, at the Crystal Coast Hospice House.

Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at Broad Creek Church of God, officiated by Reverend Robbie Strickland.  Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park.

Marguerite was born and raised in Carteret Count. She worked at the Blue Bell Shirt Factory, was with Rose’s for over 20 years and sold Avon before her retirement. She enjoyed traveling and writing poems. Marguerite was a devote Christian lady that loved worshipping her Lord. She especially loved her church, Broad Creek Church of God, where she was a lifetime member. She was a loyal wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother that will be missed.

She is survived by her husband, Luther Paul Gillikin, of the home; daughters, Katie Winberry of Jacksonville, Rita Willis of Maysville and Delinda Montague of Broad Creek; son, Perry Guthrie and wife, Linda, of Broad Creek; sister, Thelma Arnold of Broad Creek; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Bedie Cannady; sisters, Dixie Barefoot and Elizabeth “Beth” Palma; and brother, Albert Cannady.

Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, August 6, 2018, at Broad Creek Church of God.
