Margie D. Golden

Margie D. Golden, 89, of Hookerton, passed away Monday, March 11­, 2019, at her home.

Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2019, at Woodville Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Terry McInnis and Pastor Rex Edwards. Interment will follow at Woodville Gardens.

Margie loved to dance, she was a “Class Act” lady, who was soft spoken and was the kindest women you’ll ever meet. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Golden Bass of Morehead City; son, James Leslie “Les” Golden, III and wife, Robyn Allen Golden of Ayden, NC; grandchildren, Alicia Noel Golden, Keelie Brianna Bass, Dawson McCain Bass, Austin Youngs Willis, Lindsey Taylor Golden, James “Jimmy” Golden, IV; and great-grandchildren, Rodolfo Rey Castillo, Adrian Dominic Castillo, Desarey Maria Castillo, Bentley Sean Castillo, Peyton Noel Castillo, Lexus Christine Castillo, Lincoln Joshua Castillo; and sisters-in-law, Vesta Dawn Golden Newsom and Mary Golden Hill and husband, Carroll Hill.

She was preceded by her husband, James Leslie “Jimmy” Golden, Jr. of Bettie; parents, Grover and Eula Lindsey; sisters, Opal Purvis and Hazel Roney; and brothers, James Lindsey, Henry Lindsey and Ray Lindsey.
