Margarita Stallings, 73, of Havelock, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at Carolina East Medical Center.
Her funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at Annunciation Catholic Church, presided by Rev. Jim Buchholz. Entombment will follow at Forest Oaks Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, December 5, 2022, at Munden Funeral Home & Cremations in Havelock.
Margarita was born on August 20, 1949, in Sogod, in the Southern Leyte Republic of the Philippines, to the late Adeladio and Oliva Basco. She worked for over 9 years as a registered nurse at Craven Regional, later retiring from Cherry Point Hospital and clinic. Her kind and loving nature showed that she chose the perfect occupation. Margarita has lived in Craven County since 1979. In her spare time, she enjoyed cultivating in her garden. Her friends and family will miss her immensely.
She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Thomas Stallings of the home; daughter, Michelle Christine Murray (Michael) of North Lake, Texas; son, James Allan Stallings (Amber) of Pasadena, Maryland; sister, Virginia Purtee of Spring, Texas; and grandchildren, Kaitlin Murray, Michael Murray, and Noah Moretz.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Romeo Basco.
