Maney Salter
October 10, 1925 — December 25, 2009
Maney T. Salter, 84, of Newport, died Friday, December 25, 2009, at Carteret General Hospital.
Mr. Salter was a Born Again Child of God and a very active member of the Broad Creek Church of God. He was a veteran and served in the US Army during WWII.
Services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday at Broad Creek Church of God with Pastor Wesley Holmes and Pastor Allen Stocks officiating. Interment will follow in Gethsemane Memorial Park.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Claudia Salter; son, Maney Salter, Jr. of Newport; step-son, Lester Hall and wife Jerri of Havelock; daughters, Vicki Collins and husband Ron of Newport, Manda Salter of Youngsville and Diane Froehlich of Virginia Beach, VA; sister, Lavinia Oaks of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren and the baby cat, "Cuddles".
The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday at the church.
