Malcolm David McIver

June 14, 1932 — April 3, 2018

Malcolm David “Dave” McIver, 85, of Newport, passed away Tuesday, April 3­, 2018 at his home.

His memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City, officiated by Chaplain Rick Brooks.

Dave honorably served our country in the United States Coast Guard for 3 years. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening and he loved his cats. Dave faithfully served as a deacon at Swansboro Bible Church.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Harriette McIver of the home; daughter, Sharon McIver Choyce and husband, Norman, of Peletier; son, David Wayne McIver and wife, Renee, of Greer, SC; sisters, Susan Abernathy and husband, Coleman, of Gainesville, GA, Kay McIver-Lowe and husband, Dave, of Charlotte; brothers, Jack G. McIver and wife, Linda, of Monroe, Charles W. McIver and wife, Debra, of Charlotte; grandson, Noah D. McIver of Greer, SC; and step-grandson, Christopher N. Choyce of Newport.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Malcolm and Myrtle McIver and his brother, Gary C. McIver.
