Makely Gordon Salter

Makely Gordon Salter, age 80 of Morehead City, North Carolina, passed away on February 18, 2014.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday at Munden Funeral Home, 2112 Arendell Street Morehead City, NC. Rev. David Jones of Franklin Memorial United Methodist Church will be officiating. Burial will follow the funeral at Shell Hill Cemetery, Sea Level, NC.
Makely was born in Sea Level on April 13, 1933. He graduated from Atlantic School where shortly after graduation he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard and served from 1951 to 1954. He continued his military career in the United State Air Force serving from 1956 to 1977 and retiring as a Senior Master Sargent. After his retirement he and his family moved back to his original home of Sea Level. He enjoyed golfing with his friends and family. He also enjoyed attending Franklin Memorial United Methodist Church. Makely was married to Sue Maholm on May 3, 1968 and were married 45 years.
Makely is survived by his wife Sue, his children Karen Salter Hardesty and husband Jerry, and Kathy Salter Tripp and husband Charles, and grand-daughters Savannah Carrie Winters and Baileigh Marie Winters,
Makely was preceded in death by Father, Makely Salter, Mother, Carrie Tosto Salter and Step- Mother Ruby Harris Salter.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
