Major Kynn Timothy Johnson, U.S. Army, Retired,

Major Kynn Timothy Johnson, U.S. Army, Retired, 67, of Beaufort, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023, at his home.

His funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 11th at Munden Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Gene McLendon. Interment, with military honors, will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. The family invites you to join them following the interment for a reception at 208 Nottingham Lane, Morehead City, NC.

Kynn was born on July 7, 1955, in Erwin, North Carolina, to the late Timothy and Naomi Johnson. Dedication, courage and strength defined Kynn’s life journey. His commitment to his country was evident in his honorable service in the United States Army where he held the rank of Major. His heroic duty included being a Green Beret with the United States Army Special Forces as well as being an Airborne Ranger.

After retirement, Kynn was a successful entrepreneur, which he greatly enjoyed. His community involvement included the Noon Rotary Club of Morehead City where he served as past president. He was also involved with our local Chamber of Commerce.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary W. Johnson; sons, Christopher Johnson and wife Sophia of Morehead City, NC and Nicholas Johnson of Beaufort, NC; sister, Kelly Ennis of Buies Creek, NC; and grandchildren, Harper Grace Johnson and Olivia Paige Johnson; and his beloved cat, Miss Pebbles.
