Major Lee East, 85, of Newport, died Monday, January 21, 2013 at his home.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Friday at Beasley Family Cemetery in Stuart, VA .
Mr. East owned and operated Major's Seafood in Cape Carteret.
He is survived by his daughter, Norma Smith and husband Jim of Morehead City; five grandchildren, Clint Etheridge of Greenville, Franke Etheridge Locklear and husband Jason of Greenville, SC, Brandon Etheridge, Jenna Etheridge and Josh Etheridge all of Morehead City; six great-grandchildren, Taylor Locklear, Landen Locklear, Sophia Locklear, Lola Etheridge, Cullen Etheridge, and Caden Etheridge; and brother, Dwight East of High Point.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Sink East, parents, Hobert and Jean Beasley East, sister, Frances Gammons, and two brothers, Benny East and Daniel East.
