Mack Clarence Houge, 97, of Morehead City, received his wings as his spirit was set free on Sunday, May 20, 2018.
There will be a Celebration of Life held at 11:00 am Friday, May 25, 2018 at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church in Morehead City.
Mack Houge was born September 12, 1920 in Holt, Alabama. He joined the Navy for four years and then joined the Marine Corps where he served 16 years as a Ssgt. Mack Houge resided in Morehead City, NC on North 12th Street where he raised four sons and two daughters. Mack Houge was an extraordinary man. Mack Houge was definitely not a stranger to anyone. He could hold a conversation with anyone and everyone.
There was never a job he couldn’t do. He was and still is in our hearts a good father, grandfather, and friend. There was never a dull moment with him. He was a beautiful soul that would make you smile when you were down. He was a strong and very determined man. Mack Houge was a fighter, he fought his disease for a long time. That is why he was the backbone to his wife and family.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Hester Houge; four sons, Michael (Deborah), Rodney (Siobiah), Jeffrey (Michelle), Eric (Pamela); two daughters, Cynthia Jackson, Angela Cherry (Timothy); eleven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
