Lyndon Dennis “Red” Clarke, 97, of Newport, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at his home.
The family will have a Celebration of Life at a later date.
Lyndon proudly served in the United States Army and was a Veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Local 28 Iron Worker Union. Among his many interests he was an avid bowler, he loved fishing and playing Domino’s and Solitaire. Lyndon’s love for the Lord was evident to those who knew him. He was a Deacon at Newport Baptist Church and Southside Baptist Church in Virginia and enjoyed attending Life Point Baptist Church in Eustis, Florida.
He is survived by his wife, Martha May Clarke, of the home; daughters, Nancy Clarke Roorbach and husband, Robert M. “Bert” of Eustis, FL, Betty Smith of Newport, Sandi Pittman and husband, Willie, of Newport; sons, Edward Faw and wife, Gay, of Taylorsville, NC, Gary Faw and wife, Shelly, of Newport, Larry Faw of Newport; sisters, Mary Saunders of Aiken, SC, Blanche Winn of Richmond, VA; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Blanche Clarke and son, Lyndon Dennis Clarke, Jr.
