Luther Earl Lewis, Jr.
November 11, 1955 — April 20, 2017
Luther Earl Lewis Jr., 61, peacefully passed away into the loving arms of our Lord, Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Crystal Coast Hospice House.
A lifelong resident of Carteret County, Luther graduated from West Carteret High School. He attended Central Carolina Community College in Sanford, N.C., earning a degree in Motorcycle Mechanics. Luther served as produce manager at the Big Star and Pak-A-Sak grocery stores in Morehead City. He was an owner and operator of Peletier General Store on Highway 58, Swansboro, NC. In later years he worked in the construction trade as an employee of Spencer Construction Company.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 -4:00 PM on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Munden Funeral Home. A private burial will be held at a later date.
He is survived by his loving parents; Mr. and Mrs. L.E. Lewis of Morehead City; sister, Linda Lewis Spencer of Beaufort; children, Brandon Todd, Justin Lewis, Sarah Curtiss, and Andrea Lewis; niece, Jennifer Spencer McClausley and husband Mike; nephew, Marvin Spencer and; grandson Andrew Curtiss.
He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Jack Spencer.
