Luis R. Ventura-Sanchez

Luis R. Ventura-Sanchez, 80, of New Bern, North Carolina, passed away Friday, January 5, 2024, at Carolina East Medical Center.

A funeral service to honor Luis’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, January 14^th at Munden Funeral Home in Havelock, officiated by Rev. Jim Daub. Interment will follow at Forest Oaks Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. For those unable to attend, the service can be viewed through his obituary page on Munden Funeral Home’s website.

Luis was born on November 15, 1943, in the Dominican Republic, to the late Cesar Sanchez and Maria Ventura. He was a lifelong bodybuilder who was passionate about physical fitness. Luis inspired others with his physique and embracing a healthy lifestyle. He embodied the spirit of a true entrepreneur and showcased that by his commitment to his business, Ventura Grocery Store, which he owned and operated.

Luis loved fast sports cars and classic hot rods. He will be cherished for his love for his family and his strong work ethic. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved him.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his wife, Edinia Ventura of the home; children, Belkis Ventura, Luis R. Ventura Jr., Ernesto Ventura, Cesar Ventura, Genesis Ventura, Alisha Ventura, William Ventura, and Natalie Ventura; sisters, Josefina Sanchez, Orquidia Sanchez, Aida Sanchez, and Elvida Sanchez; brothers, Julio Ventura, Jose Ventura, Pedro Ventura, Elvin Sanchez, Radhames Sanchez, and Jose Manuel Sanchez; 14 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
