Lucille Locklear Hardy, 82, of Morehead City, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at the John F. Keever Jr. Solace Center in Asheville, NC.
Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City, officiated by Reverend Robbie Strickland. Interment will follow at the Hardy Family Cemetery in South River.
Lucille was a native of Lumberton, NC and was proud of her Lumbee Indian Heritage. During her years, she picked cotton, cropped tobacco, worked in the seafood industry and cleaned homes. She raised her family in South River, NC. where she was a dedicated mother, wife, grandmother, and granny. Lucille loved her gospel music, church and all people. She will be greatly missed.
Lucille is survived by her daughters, Judy Golden and husband Murphy of Broad Creek, Barbara Pevia and husband Carl of Red Springs, Sandra Lytle and husband Hoyt of Old Fort; son, Daniel (Buddy) Hardy of Butner; step-son, Randy Hardy of Louisville, KY; brother, Rosevelt Locklear of Laurinburg; grandchildren, Matthew Golden and wife Gail, Christin Fulcher and husband Neil, Anthony Pevia and wife Tasha, Christopher Pevia and wife Monica, Debra Krimmelbein, Kimberly Hardy; great-grandchildren, Coty and Christian Hammonds, Cassidy and Caelum Pevia, William and Ellanore Fulcher.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bennie F. Hardy of South River in 2005; parents, Pittman and Harriet Locklear; sister, Bonnie; brothers, Hubbard, Charles, Montford, Woodrow, and Arthur Lee.
Family will receive friends from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City.
