Louise Pittman

Louise Carraway Pittman, 93, of Merrimon, died Monday, December 28, 2009, at Carteret General Hospital.
Mrs. Pittman was the oldest lifetime member of Merrimon United Methodist Church.She was a homemaker, Social Worker, and owned and operated the Pittman Gas and Grocery in Merrimon for several years.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday at Merrimon United Methodist Church with the Rev. Peg Witt officiating. Interment will follow at the Carraway Family Cemetery.
She is survived by her daughter, Jean Pittman Cox and husband William"Bill" of Atlantic; a sister, Eleanor McNeill of Beaufort; granddaughter, Carroll Boyt and husband John; two great grandchildren, Sarah Emily Boyt and Mary Caroline Boyt; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hervey D. Sr., and Sadie Carraway, husband, Oscar Pittman, four sisters, Maude Rosene, Roxie Taylor, Freda Carraway, and Carolyn Boyle, and two brothers, Hervey D. Carraway, Jr. and John M. Carraway.
The family will receive friends 7:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday at Munden Funeral Home.
