Louise Vanderhoof Erdman, 69, passed away on Friday, December 10, 2021, at Carolina East Medical Center.

A celebration of life will be held on December 18th from 1 p.m. until  3 p.m. at the Township 6 Fire Department in New Bern.

Louise was born in Franklin, New Jersey, on August 19,1952, to the late Harry and Dorothy Vanderhoof. She was a member of the Cherry Point United Methodist Church for many years. Louise enjoyed volunteering at the local elementary schools and spending time with children. Her days were also spent volunteering at the Carolina Pines Auxiliary Fire Department, where she spent over 11 years. She will be forever remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Louise had an affinity for teddy bears and angels which she collected.

She leaves behind her daughter, Mary Ann Caldwell and husband James of Havelock; brother, Raymond Vanderhoof and wife Nellie of Newton, NJ; grandchildren, Shawn Caldwell and wife Leslie, Steven Caldwell, and Scott Caldwell; and great grandchildren, Riley, Ryder, Conrad, and Zoie.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Erdman.
