Lorna L. (Smith) Peters

Lorna L. Peters, 85, of Morehead City, passed away Tuesday, August 21­, 2018, at her home.

Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 24, 2018, at Munden Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Jack Mumford. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park.

Lorna was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Beaufort.

She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Day and husband, David, of Marshallberg; son, Duane Dale “Pete” Peters, Jr., of Broadway; grandchildren, Tracy Lawrence, Jonathan Lawrence, Jeremy and Jessica; great-grandchild, Landon Caleb Lawrence; and great-grand fur baby, Halleigh.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Duane Dale “Pete” Peters, Sr.; parents, Alonzo and Grace Smith; sister, Marie Holcomb; and brothers, Alonzo T. Smith and Frederick Smith.

Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 23, 2018, at Munden Funeral Home.
