Mrs. Lois Smith Pringle, 94, passed away peacefully at home with family around her on Sunday evening, February 21, 2016.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 25th, 2016 at Munden Funeral Home Chapel in Morehead City, N.C. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Pringle was born on April 11, 1921 in Newport, N.C. to James and Stella Smith and attended Newport Consolidated School. She was a resident of Carteret County until she moved to Pitt County twelve years ago to live with her daughter and son-in-law.

Mrs. Pringle was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She was a lifelong member of Holly Springs Free Will Baptist Church in Newport.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Redmon Pringle, who passed away in 1994 with ALS; two sisters, Katherine Roberson of New Bern, N.C., and Ruby Fleming Kittrell of Newport, N.C.; two brothers, James Wheeler Smith of Newport, N.C. and Joe Fowler Smith of Bridgeton, N.C.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Lewis Forrest, Ayden, N.C.; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Linda Pringle, New Bern, N.C.; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, and her devoted caregiver and friend of ten years, Vera Smith.
