Lois Attisani

Lois Attisani, 89, of Havelock passed away on Monday, October 19, 2020, at her residence.

Lois was born on March 18, 1931, in Stamford, Connecticut, to the late Irvin and Dorothy Ellsworth. She was a very loving and generous woman throughout her life.  Starting in the 1940's Lois dedicated her life to volunteering locally in community clubs, schools, and hospitals, while raising her 6 children. She was a member of the Havelock Senior Center in which she donated over 4,500 hours to medical centers around the country. For the past 20 years, she has been an active volunteer in Craven County schools, as well as a volunteer in her daughter's classroom at W.G Gurganus. Lois was a devoted wife for 61 years, grandmother to her 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Her hobbies included a daily crossword puzzle, knitting and sewing her beloved hats, scarves, socks, knitted knockers, blankets, dolls, and customized backpacks for both family members, chemo and mastectomy patients, and children in need throughout the country.

She is survived by five of her children, Dawn Mooney of Huntington Station NY, Deryl DePauw (Joeseph DePauw) of Port Chester, NY, Darcy Attisani (Mark Ono) of Kapaa HI, Darbi Billington (Matt Billington) of New Bern NC, Dodd Ellsworth (Lauren Korrol) of Asheville NC.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Vincent Attisani; sister, Shirl Lions; brother, Butch Ellsworth; son, Duane Attisani; and grandchildren, Troy Billington and Hunter Bilbo.
