Logan Lanier Jones

Logan Lanier Jones, 17, of Newport, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at his home.

Logan thrived in Taekwondo, whether he was competing or practicing at Lewis Taekwondo, he excelled in every level. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed the outdoors. Logan attended West Carteret High School where he was in his junior year.

He is survived by his parents, Alton Lanier Jones, Jr. and Lisa Whaley Jones; paternal grandparents, Alton Lanier Jones, Sr. and Eula W. Jones of Newport; maternal grandparents, Hugh Whaley and Mary Whaley of Newport; aunt, Debra Whaley Miller and husband, Todd, of Newport; uncle, Mike Whaley of Emerald Isle; cousins, Presley of Newport and Ashli and husband, Cody, of Newport.

Memorials can be made to the St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital for Cancer at 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
