Lizzie Carol Fulcher Riley, 80, of Beaufort, died at her home on June 4th, 2016.
Liz was born on May 2, 1936, on Harkers Island. She is the daughter of Matthew Lincoln, and Bettie Nelson Fulcher. Liz has three brothers; Mack William, Walter Blaine, and Morris Anderson, who all died in infancy. She also has two half-sisters, Maggie Fulcher Davis, and Ethel Fulcher Pake; and three half-brothers, Matthew, Manus, and Elmo Fulcher. All of her siblings preceded her in death.
Liz married David W. Riley on April 20th, 1956. He passed in 1992. Together they had four children; Daniel Riley and wife Tammy of Morehead City, Pamela Campbell and husband Dennis of Beaufort, Matt Riley and wife Gerri of Beaufort, and Shawna Black of Greensboro. Liz and David have ten grandchildren and also sixteen great-grandchildren.
When Liz met Dave, he was in the Marine Corps and was stationed at Cherry Point. Dave later joined the Army and ultimately made Liz a military wife. Together they traveled to Europe, Alaska, Texas, California, Hawaii, and many other bases in the United States. They retired to Carteret County in 1991.
Liz was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she served the Lord in various callings.
A visitation will be held at Munden Funeral Home on Friday, June 10th , 2016, from 6:00-8:00 pm. Liz will be laid to rest in the Vergie Mae Cemetery on Harkers Island on Saturday, June 11th, 2016, at 11:00 am.
