Linda Cheryl McIntosh

September 26, 1952 — June 23, 2015

Linda Cheryl McIntosh, 62, of Atlantic, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at Duke University Medical Center.

A  funeral service will be held 3:00 pm Monday, June 29, 2015 at Atlantic Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Jonathan Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at Atlantic Community Cemetery.

Cheryl was born in Anniston, AL to the late, Pauline and James McIntosh, she attended Atlantic Elementary School and graduated from East Carteret High School .She then attended Harbargers Business College in 1971 and graduated with Honors. She later attended Campbell University where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in 1976 and earned her Masters Degree from East Carolina University in 1978. She worked weekends at Sea Level Hospital during her college career. Cheryl taught Elementary school at Camp Glenn School and retired on disability. She loved children and their creative minds.

She is survived by her brother, James Vannoy McIntosh and wife Ruth of Troy, NC: one uncle, Linwood Nelson and wife Marjorie of Tampa, FL; one niece, Lane Morgan and husband Terry of Troy, NC; one aunt, Iris Fulcher; cousi, Wanda Gaskill; also several nieces, nephews and numerous cousins and friends. Katy Dixon and Dot Hewit who were like sisters to her and a very special care givers, Paulette Russell, and Marie Hill.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her, grandparents, and several aunts and uncles.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Sunday at Atlantic Missionary Church.
