Linda Smith King, 57, of Newport, died Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at her home surrounded by family.
A memorial service will be held 11:30 Monday at Community Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Bartholemew and Rev. Ray Conner officiating.
Linda served many years as a cosmetologist in New Bern and then at her home in Newport. She was employed an insurance agent for Nationwide Larry Howard, and a medical transcriptionist. She loved to serve others.
She is survived by two daughters Shannon Nelson and husband Neal of Newport, and Corie Nunn and husband Tim of Newport; six grandchildren Madison Nunn, Bryson Nunn, Jon Foster Nelson, River Nunn, Lindsay Nelson, and Evan Nunn; mother Faye Smith of Newport; brother Buddy Smith and wife Janet of Newport; and sisiter Carol Littrell and husband Mike of New Bern.
She was preceded in death by her father Windell Smith and husband Tony King.
The family will receive friends at the home or following the service on Monday.
