Lina Sue Panzarella

Lina Sue Panzarella, 76, of Newport, North Carolina, passed away at home on Monday, September 9, 2024.

Lina was born on November 6, 1947, in Dunn, NC, to the late Thomas and Sue Ray. Lina had a deep passion for fishing and was always ready for the chance to cast her line. Her love for bowling was equally strong, and she effortlessly achieved strikes with her amazing technique. A talented cook, Lina enjoyed preparing delicious meals for her family, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for all who ate at her table. She was also a devoted fan of the Miami Dolphins, showing her enthusiasm for football with proud team spirit. Lina had a profound love for animals, especially her beloved dogs.

As a faithful member of Bethlehem Methodist Church, Lina’s faith played a significant role in her life. Above all, she will be remembered for her immense kindness and generosity. Lina's selflessness shone through in her actions; she always put others first and gave from her heart, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of many.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her sons, Michael Panzarella (Amanda) of Newport and Phillip Panzarella (Debbi Harvell) of Morehead City; granddaughter, Michaela Panzarella; and special friend, Willa Russell.

In addition to her parents, Lina was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles Greene and Harry Greene; and her companion, Tommy McLamb.
