Lillie "Marie" Pierce

Lillie “Marie” Pierce, 87, of Burgaw, passed away Thursday, December 5­, 2018, at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice in Wilmington.

Her graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 8, 2018, at the Bell Cemetery in Smyrna, officiated by Rev. Darryl Chadwick.

Marie’s passion in life were her children and grandchildren. She loved working on crafts, such as needlepoint, ceramics and dolls. She also loved flowers, music and reading.

She is survived by her daughters, Crystal Pierce Smith and husband, Joseph J. Smith Jr., of Hampstead, NC and Kimberly Pierce Rogers and husband, Joseph Rogers, of Burgaw; son, Darriel Pierce and wife, Sallie Pierce, of Smyrna, NC; grandchildren, Catherine Pierce Towle, Joseph J. Smith III, Jeffery S. Smith, Aaron Pridgen, Kalynne Pridgen, Jeremiah Pridgen and Brett Rogers; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Darriel Daniels; mother, Jennie Marie Daniels; sister, Jean Daniels Kelly; and granddaughter, Cristy Lynn Smith.

Family will receive friends following the service on Saturday, December 8, 2018, at the Bell Cemetery in Smyrna.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice at 1414 Physicians Dr, Wilmington, NC 28401.
