Lillian E. Smith

Lillian E. Smith, 92, passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at her home in Whitinsville, Massachusetts, with her family by her side.

Lillian's wishes were for her to return home to North Carolina and be laid to rest at the Bethlehem United Methodist Cemetery in Bogue, beside her husband, Walter A. Smith, who died in 1991.

A daughter of the late John A. and Agnes (Morrow) Wright, Mrs. Smith was born in Wilmington, Delaware on December 15, 1928. She lived in North Carolina until moving to Whitinsville 7 years ago, to be close to her daughter's family. She enjoyed poetry, singing, playing the piano and yodeling.

She is survived by three daughters, Norma B. McAdams and Kathy M. Contos, of Indianapolis, IN, and Linda D. Davis of Whitinsville; a sister Kathleen McGettigan, of NJ; 10 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Susan Lee White; and her sister, Barbara Wright.
