Lillian Lindgren, 87, of Morehead City and formerly of Pine Knoll Shores, died Monday January 7, 2013, at Carteret General Hospital.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 Saturday at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Tim Havlicek officiating. Visitation will follow the service at the church.
Lillian the wife of the late Cyrus G. Lindgren, was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA to Gustav and Bertha Pyatt Johnson. She received her BA and MA at the University of Maryland, and was a teacher by profession. Lillian was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church and served as an elder, Sunday school teacher, bible study leader and Stephan Ministries leader. Additionally, she was a member of the Constitution and Mission Committees and actively participated in the Prayer Knitting group. In 2005, she received the Presbyterian Women Honorary Life Membership Award. Her joys were traveling to Sweden and Israel and always enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and visitors.
She is survived by a daughter Janet Schnarrenberger and husband Alan of Parkville, MO; two sons John Lindgren of Norwalk, CT, and Robert Lindgren and wife Heather of Ridgefield, CT; grandchildren Paul Gloe and wife Amiee of Spokane, WA, Jeff Gloe of Newport, NC, Krista Gloe of Eugene, OR, John Lindgren Jr., of Reno, NV, Alicia Lindgren of Milford, NH, Kelsey Lindgren Freitag and husband Brian of Norwalk, CT, Olivia Lindgren and Wright Lindgren of Ridgefield, CT; two great- granddaughters Aurora and Adelyn Gloe; several nieces and nephews and sister-in-law Jeanette Lindgren of Pine Knoll Shores.
