Letitia Barbara Meden Prosser

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Letitia Barbara Meden Prosser, lovingly known as Tish and Cookie, who passed away peacefully surrounded by her large, loving family at the Crystal Coast Hospice House in Newport, NC, on April 8, 2025, at the age of 82.

A memorial service, with Nurses Honor Guard, will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, April 13th at Munden Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Manley B. Rose Jr. Inurnment will follow at Oceanview Cemetery in Beaufort. For those unable to attend, the service can be viewed through her obituary page on Munden Funeral Home’s website. The service will remain on the Funeral Home website for 90 days.

The family will receive friends prior to the memorial service from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 13th at Munden Funeral Home, as well as from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Saturday, April 12th at Munden Funeral Home.

Born on July 13, 1942, in Jersey City, New Jersey, Tish was the daughter of the late Lettie and Gus Meden. She was a 1960 graduate of St. Nicholas High School, in Jersey City, NJ. Tish went on to become a registered nurse graduating from St. Michal's Nursing School. For over 40 years, she devoted herself to a career in labor and delivery, touching the lives of countless families. This includes her pivotal role in starting childbirth classes at Carteret Health Care in 1993. Many of you reading this obituary may have seen her in your birth videos, as she helped bring so many new lives into the world!

In addition to her professional work, Tish was a dedicated and loving mother, a passionate and caring grandmother and "nini". She was always there for her grandchildren for love and support. She cherished the role of grandparent and found immense joy in caring for them. Tish's legacy of love, care and dedication to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, including her many cousins, coworkers and lifelong friends.

She is survived by her children, Thomas Prosser and his wife Janet of Morehead City, NC, Darren Prosser of Beaufort, NC, Tara Mitchell and her life partner Craig Paylor of Morehead City, NC, Lee Taylor and her husband Keith of Beaufort, NC, Colin Prosser and his wife Donna of Raleigh, NC, and Amanda Przygodzinski of Beaufort, NC; grandchildren, Katelyn, Lexi, Abigail, Colleen, Sarah, Oliver, Matthew, Jasmine and Jade; great-grandchildren, August, Ruthie, Ivy and Jack; brother-in-law, Eddie Fay; and nephew, Bryan Fay. She was also "Nini" to Blake, Wyatt and Claire Bouler.

In addition to her parents, Tish was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Thomas “Tom” Prosser; son-in-law, Morris Mitchell; two grandsons, Landon Morris Mitchell and Colin August Prosser II; sister, Nancy Fay; and niece, Carolyn Fay Thompson.
