Leslie Keleher Becton, 67, of Morehead City, North Carolina, peacefully departed this life on Monday, March 17, 2025, with her son by her side.

A memorial gathering to celebrate Leslie’s life will take place from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m., on Saturday, April 5th, at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City.

Born on November 1, 1957, Leslie devoted over 35 years to the noble profession of teaching, shaping the minds of countless young individuals. Together with her cherished husband, David, she made Morehead City her home, where they created a life rich in love, joy, and treasured memories.

Leslie relished family vacations at the beach, where she could unwind and enjoy the sun. She was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins and the NC Tarheels on game days, she also had a fondness for watching wrestling. In her leisure time, Leslie enjoyed assembling puzzles, coloring, and shopping, particularly at her favorite store, QVC. She was renowned for her generous spirit, zest for life, and deep devotion to her family, with a special affection for her grandchildren that was truly unparalleled.

Leslie is survived by her father, Clifford Gillette (Sharon, stepmother); her daughter, Mallory Dixon (Steven) of Morehead City, NC; her son, Jason Scott (Keri) of Wilmington, NC; her sister, Kim Edwards (Larry) of Grifton; her brother, Jeff Keleher (Martha); and her grandchildren, Kamden, Bailey, and Peyton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Becton, and her mother, Judy Gillette.

Although our hearts are heavy, we just know that Leslie is at peace now and overjoyed by reuniting with her husband and mother who she had missed so dearly.
