Leonda "Pat" Henninger

Leonda "Pat" Henninger, 89, of Gloucester died Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Carteret General Hospital.
Services will be held 2:00 pm Monday at Marshallberg Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Through the Woods Cemetery in Marshallberg.
Mrs. Henninger was a member of Marshallberg Baptist Church. She was the granddaughter of Franklin Peirce Lewis, the Cape Lookout Lighthouse Keeper. She met her husband while the US Army occupied Fort Macon during WWII. He was the leader of the marching band and they traveled all over the world together with their family. She was most proud about being from Marshallberg.
She is survived by daughter, Patricia Holcombe and husband, Ron of Gloucester, NC; sons, Kenneth Henninger and wife, Dollie of Beaufort, NC, and Arlie Henninger and wife, Gaylyn of NH; brother, Capt. Ira Douglas Murphy of Marshallberg and Chapel Hill, NC; 15 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband, Kenneth Henninger; three daughters, Grace Lewis, Mary Powers, Melody Henninger; parents, Aradell and Mary Murphy; sisters, Helma Phelps, Mary Bell Lewis, and Martha Frances Gillikin.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
