Leonard "Chief " Supple

Leonard “Chief” Supple, 73, of Newport, died on January 21st, 2012 peacefully at Carteret General Hospital.
His Funeral Mass of Christian Burial is being held at 10:00 am Thursday, January 26, 2012 at St Egbert Catholic Church located at 1706 Evans Street, Morehead City with Father Doug Smiley presiding. Burial follows at Amariah Garner Cemetery in Newport.
Chief was born in Beacon, NY of the late Dr. Leonard and Irene Supple. He graduated from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY, and then graduated from McGalister Funeral Directing School in New York City. He had his own Funeral Home for many years in Hyde Park, NY. He worked as a Professional Firefighter for 24 years and a Volunteer Firefighter for 37 years. Chief retired in 1995 as the Assistant Chief of the Montrose VA Hospital Medical Center. He enjoyed traveling , during retirement, to many hot and tropical locations with his wife Ginny for the last 12 years.
He is survived by his wife, Ginny Supple of 41 years; three daughters Catherine Supple of Hilton Head, SC, Cara Gaona of San Antonio, TX and Debbie Fisher and husband Jeff of Morehead City, NC; five grandchildren Alex Fisher of Morehead City, Connor and Brice Fisher of Hilton Head, SC, and Gabriel and Caitlin Gaona of San Antonio, TX; brother Dr. John Supple of Millbrook, NY, and sister Faith Supple of Beacon, NY; many nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday at Munden Funeral Home.
