Leonard Kevin Foley, 78, of Gloucester, died Friday, November 21, 2014 at Crystal Bluff's Rehabilation Center.
Celebration of life for Leonard will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Huggins Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. David Adams officiating. Interment will follow at Willie D. Willis Family Cemetery.
Leonard Kevin Foley was born Oct 9, 1936 to Hampton C. Foley and Mary M. Foley in Mt Sidney, VA. He was the oldest of nine children; brothers, Hampton W. Foley of Mt. Sidney, VA, David Foley of Oklahoma, Larry Foley of Oklahoma, Marlin Foley of Colarado, and Ronnie Foley of Mt. Sidney, VA; sisters, Lea Grubb of Virginia, Arnesa "Sis" Lind of Virginia, Patty Quillen of Waynesboro, VA, and Kathy Bennett of West Virginia. Kevin had many nieces and nephews.
After graduating from Bloom Township High School in 1954, Kevin joined the U.S. Navy and served for 20 years and retired in 1976 as a Chief Petty Officer.
In 1978 Kevin began working at Cherry Point Marine Base Facility and Maintenance for the next 25 years. After retireing in 2004 from CPMB, Kevin's health began to decline and he was later diagnosed with Parkensons. Kevin was a longtime member of Huggin's Memorial Baptist Church where he served as Decon for many years. His love for his family, friends and the Lord was obvious.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years Helen Foley of the home; three daughters, Terry Willis of Gloucester, Ann Chadwick and husband Kenny and Vickie Brennan and husband Ken of Straits; and son, Kevin Wayne Foley and wife Terrena of Gloucester; nine grandchildren, Brett Willis, Ryan Willis, Diedra Pope, Leanne Peppers, Kelli Jarman, Jonell Brennan, Kenny Brennan, Devan Foley, and Brittany Beacham; eleven great grandchildren, Hunter Willis, Jocelyn Lawrence, Kenli Peppers, Hendrix Willis, Karsyn
Peppers, Rosalin Willis, Morgan and Taylor Jarman, Rebecca and Conner Pope, and Jacelyn Beacham.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Hampton C. and Mary M. Foley.
Visitation will be two hours prior to the service.
The family would like to give our sincere thanks and appreciation to Crystal Bluff Rehabilation Center for alll the love and care they gave our father. We will be forever grateful.
