Leon McKinley Meadows, 84, of Newport, died Friday, December 11, 2009, at Britthaven of Newport.
Mr. Meadows was a veteran and served in the US Navy.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday at Reece's Chapel with Rev. Winkie Chadwick officiating.
He is survived by his wife, Doris M. Meadows; children, Barbra Sparks of Stacy, son, Leon D. Meadows of Beaufort, SC, William J. Meadows and Calvin E. Meadows, both of Mill Creek and John D. Meadows of Newport; sisters, Betsy Lewellyn of OH and Gernie Sours of Luray, VA; grandchildren, Tina, Nicholas Culpepper, Jason Culpepper, Hollie Marsh, Leon R. Meadows and Douglas C. Meadows and great grandchildren, Alysa Pittman, Ryan Pittman, Catlyn Marsh, Gianna Culpepper, Anabelle Meadows and Julia Culpepper.
The family will receive friends following the service.
