LaVerne Maybelle Wesner, 77, of Havelock, died Sunday, February 2, 2014 at Carolina East Medical Center.
A private service will be held at a later date.
She is survived by a daughter Shelly Thomas of Newport; a son Howard F. Wesner III of Havelock; five grandchildren Desiree Willis of Newport, Erin Warner of Newport, Ashley Lander of Newport, Blake Cooper of Raleigh, and Alex Thomas of Newport; eight great grandchildren: and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Howard F. Wesner, Jr., and her parents Verne and Ester Shaw.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association PO Box 11454 Alexandria, VA 22312.
