Lavern Glen Fulton, 78, of Williston, NC passed away Monday, June 24, 2019, at Carteret Health Care in Morehead City, NC.
His interment, with military honors, will take place at Coastal Carolina Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville at a later date.
Lavern was born on October 9, 1940, in Saginaw, Michigan. He retired from the United States Navy, after 20 years, which included two tours in Vietnam. He also retired from the Marine Corp Air Station at Cherry Point, Havelock, NC after 20 years as a Non-Destructive Inspector where he loved working on planes and helicopters. Glen enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, wood working, country music, travelling and professional bull riding. He loved life, his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sherra Roberts Fulton of the home; daughters, Chris Ellis and husband Billy of Eglin, TX and Teresa Beck of Elgin, TX; brothers, Roy Fulton of St. Charles, MI and Dean Fulton and wife Carolyn of Chesaning, MI; sisters-in-law, Virginia R. Mathews of Pensacola, FL, Lela Chappell of Chesaning, MI and Dorothy Fulton of Saginaw, MI; grandsons, Brandon Ellis and wife Brittany, Karl Fulton and Michael Beck and great-grandson, Jacob Ellis, all of Elgin, TX; special friends, Rod and Cathy Hales of Tennessee and Ray and Shirley Burgess of Williston, NC; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Fulton and Blanch Theile Fulton; sisters, Betty Trumble and her husband Harvey, Joyce Allen and her husband Frank; brothers, Carl Chappell, Wayne Fulton, and Kenneth Fulton and his wife Marion; and sister-in-law, Gwen Fulton.
