Laura Jane Warren

Laura Jane Warren, 78, of Emerald Isle, N.C. passed away with loved ones by her side on Friday, September 27, 2013 after a long illness.
A service to celebrate Jane’s life will be held on October 1st at 2:00 at Emerald Isle Baptist Church with Reverend Freddie Braswell officiating.
Through the years she beat the odds time and time again. The illness weakened her body but never her mind or spirit.  Her family and her faith kept her strong.   Even in her last days, Jane enjoyed the world around her and those who were blessed to have known and loved her caring and gentle soul. Jane was beloved by many friends who will remember her kindness, devotion, and beautiful smile.  Everyone loved her cooking and often said her recipes were better than their own. She enjoyed traveling and was fortunate enough to have been able to do so prior to her illness becoming so grave.  She was an active person during healthier times and her family has many great memories including family camping and fishing trips.  Jane enjoyed reading extensively and when it became difficult for her to read, she enjoyed books on tape.
A beloved wife and mother, Jane is survived by her husband of 62 years, Larry Grayson Warren and her three daughters, Gail Warren of Charlotte, N.C., Lynne Lusk and husband Henry of Belton, S.C., and Sheryl Smith and husband Ralph of Zebulon, N.C.  She had 6 beautiful grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren that she absolutely adored and pampered.
The family will receive friends at the home located at 10549 Wyndtree Drive, Emerald Isle.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SECU Crystal Coast Hospice House in Newport, NC,  Vidant Heart Institute in Greenville, NC or Carteret General Hospital in Morehead City, NC.
