Laura Hill Simpson, 90, of Bettie, died Thursday June 7, 2012, at her home.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Tuesday at North River United Methodist Church with Rev. Rose Bottari officiating. Interment will follow at Simpson Family Cemetery.
She was a lifelong member of North River United Methodist Church. She was employed with the Morehead City Garment Co., and a supervisor at Simpson Greenhouse. She loved staying busy all the time, working the family farm, canning corn and tomatoes, and especially doing for others.
She is survived by a son George Simpson and wife Sandra of Bettie: a daughter Mary Lewis and husband Kenny of Smyrna: five grandchildren George Simpson, Jr, and wife Dawn, Chantel Ricks, Shela Fulcher and husband David, Kenny Lewis and wife Lynda, and Carroll Lewis and Kelly: eight great grandchildren Ashton Fulcher, Bailey Fulcher, Trevor Ricks, Emma Simpson, Sara Simpson, Kendra Lewis, Kendalyn Lewis, and William Burkman Lewis: three sisters Reba Watkins of Norwood, Juanita Pake of Bettie, and Kay Arthur of Bettie: many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents George Daniel and Mary Evelyn Pelletier Hill, husband Dyon Burkman Simpson, two brothers L.J. Hill and Robert Hill, and a sister Alice Garner.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 pm Monday at Munden Funeral Home.
